The issue of changing the boundaries of a number of districts and cities of Tashkent region was considered

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Members of the upper house of parliament discussed the issue of changing the borders of Akkurgan, Akhangaran, Bekabad, Bostanlyk, Bukinsky, Zangiata, Yukorichirchik, Kibray, Parkent, Pskent, Urtachirchik, Yangiyulsky districts, Chirchik, Chirchik cities, Yangiyul, Bekabad of Tashkent region.

It was noted that today several districts and cities of Tashkent region, including the cities of Angren and Bekabad, as well as the Kibray and Pskent districts have “enclave” territories located in other districts and cities.

This circumstance creates problems in the effective organization of the fight against crime and delinquency, the implementation of social security for the population and cooperation with state bodies, as well as control over the education of minors and their involvement in mass events at the district (city) level and other processes.

Children of residents of the Istikbol mahalla in Bekabad district attend a school located on the territory of the Yangi hayot mahalla in the city of Bekabad, the residents themselves are sent for treatment to the central hospital in the city of Bekabad. All utilities are provided by city organizations.

In addition, the residents of the Krasnogorsk settlement of the city of Angren have utilities, in particular electricity, drinking water supply, gas supply, as well as banking services, provided by organizations of the Parkent district. Residents of the village "Krasnogorsk" for treatment also visit the central hospital located in the Parkent district.

All this creates various difficulties in the life of the inhabitants of these areas.

In this regard, on the basis of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the administrative-territorial structure of the Republic of Uzbekistan", it is proposed to change the boundaries of the above-mentioned districts and cities of Tashkent region. The total land area of the changed borders of districts and cities is 17 359.1 hectares, of which 10 084.8 hectares are agricultural land.

The regulation of the boundaries of administrative-territorial units of Tashkent region contributes to the elimination of enclave territories and further simplification of the management of territories by local government bodies, as well as the socio-economic development of administrative-territorial units.

Determining the territories of Tashkent region where it is necessary to develop cities in 2021-2030, the implementation of investment projects, the construction of new residential areas will help meet the needs of the growing population of cities.

Following the discussion, a corresponding resolution of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis was adopted.
