The implementation of the agreement between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of labor migration is being studied

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan is visiting the Republic of Kazakhstan from 30 October to 4 November 2022 to study and monitor the implementation of an intergovernmental agreement in the field of labor migration.

The delegation included representatives of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, representatives of the Agency for External Labor Migration, as well as the International Organization for Migration.

Between the two countries, an “Agreement on cooperation in the fight against illegal migration between the Governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan” has been concluded and is in force. The main purpose of the monitoring visit, which takes place in the cities of Astana and Almaty, is to study the implementation of the agreement on the territory of Kazakhstan, develop recommendations based on the results of the study, and further develop cooperation between the relevant authorities of the two countries.

The first meeting took place on 30 October at the Commission on Human Rights under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A round table was organized here, where the parties exchanged views on issues related to the agreement. In particular, issues related to preventing violations of the rights of migrants and ensuring the protection of their rights were discussed.

On 31 October, negotiations were held with the participation of representatives of the Agency for Foreign Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues of further strengthening bilateral equal relations, establishing cooperation with new potential employers, training employees in a certain area and organizing recruitment processes.

As a result of the meetings, the results of the visit, the productivity of the negotiations, following which the issues outlined are being agreed upon, were noted.
