Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan Pulat Bobozhonov and Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Makhkamov got acquainted with the work of public transport in Tashkent.
On Friday, they traveled by bus, went down to the subway and visited the 8th bus depot in Tashkent.
It should be noted that the ministers led a working group that studied the opinion of the population about the amenities created for public transport passengers, and at the same time about the existing problems.
On 13 December, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited bus depot No. 18 and gave instructions to improve the work of public transport in Tashkent.
To implement the instructions of the President, an operational headquarters was created, which, in addition to the Ministry of Transport, included law enforcement agencies - the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Eight bus fleets of the Toshshahartranskhizmat company were distributed among the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The headquarters analyzed all bus routes, took control of compliance with traffic schedules, launched the process of repairing faulty vehicles and began recruiting drivers.
It was reported that 425 out of 1390 were technically faulty and 161 were completely unserviceable. On 14 December, 75 buses were repaired, thanks to which 945 buses were able to enter the routes on 15 December, and already 975 on 16 December.
Toshshahartranshizmat received 100 Isuzu NP 40 buses and 13 SAZ LE-60 low-floor buses manufactured by the Samarkand Automobile Plant. The buses will be used to serve passengers on various routes.
