Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 July 2021, within the framework of the International high-level conference “Central and South Asia: regional interconnectedness. Challenges and Opportunities”, the fourth meeting of the heads of the foreign ministries in the “Central Asia - Russia” format took place in Tashkent city.
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tleuberdi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirozhiddin Mukhriddin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, as well as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Nuran Niyazaliev.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the current situation in Afghanistan, and also exchanged views on topical issues of international and regional politics.
Following the meeting, a joint statement on the situation in Afghanistan was adopted.
