Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A government working group, set up on behalf of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, traveled to Kazakhstan to provide assistance to Uzbeks injured in a traffic accident in Zhambyl region on 12 May. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The group, led by the Deputy Minister for Emergency Situations, included representatives from the Ministries of the Interior, Foreign Affairs, Health and Transport. The task of the group is to provide the necessary assistance to the victims of the accident, their return to Uzbekistan and study the causes of the incident.
Earlier there was a message that there were 53 passengers on the bus that got into an accident, including 47 citizens of Uzbekistan. The cause of the accident was tentatively named worsening weather conditions. As a result of a collision between a bus and a tractor-trailer moving in the same direction, 2 Uzbeks died, another 16 citizens are in the district hospital, including 2 in the intensive care unit.
