Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 August 2022, in the city of Cholpon-Ata, during the summit conference of women in the energy sector of Central Asian countries, a ceremony was held to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation and Mutual Understanding between the Gender Council of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, represented by the head Elmira Bekmurodova and the Association of Women in the Energy Industry of Kyrgyzstan, represented by President Altynai Abdykerimova.
According to the Memorandum, the parties intend to cooperate to expand opportunities and enhance the role of women in the energy sector.
In addition, the memorandum envisages the creation of favorable conditions for the development of cooperation between the parties in terms of studying and applying the experience of women working in the energy systems of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, promoting gender-oriented professions in the energy sector, engineering and engineering ICT technologies, providing advisory, informational assistance to the younger generation - adolescent girls and girls who choose engineering professions, as well as the organization of joint projects and analytical work.
The Gender Council of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Association of Women in Energy in Kyrgyzstan in their activities adhere to similar goals, principles and values: they contribute to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of women and strive to increase the role of women in the energy sector.
The parties expressed their intention to strengthen partnerships and develop effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.
