Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in South Korea, the first meeting of the Uzbek-South Korean Working Group on the implementation of joint projects in the field of research and the use of space for peaceful purposes was held in the format of a video conference, Dunyo news agency reported.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies of the Republic of Korea, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), the South Korean company for work with satellites "SI Imaging Services", as well as the management and specialists of the Agency for Space Research and Technologies "Uzbekkosmos".

The parties discussed issues of further intensifying cooperation in the field of research and the use of outer space for peaceful purposes, and also identified the most priority areas for further interaction.

An agreement was reached on the organization of short-term and long-term training courses for Uzbek specialists in educational institutions of South Korea in specialties related to space sciences and systems, including master's courses.

As a result of the working meeting, it was decided to carefully study the proposals submitted by the parties and hold a regular working meeting as soon as answers to all the questions raised are ready.
