The first meeting of heads of Intelligence Services of Central Asian states takes place in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The first meeting of the heads of intelligence services of Central Asian states was held in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent.
The event was organized as part of Uzbekistan's chairmanship at the 7th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.
At the beginning of the meeting, a message from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was read to the participants. The message emphasized that dialogue between the intelligence services of the region's countries would help develop joint approaches and effective mechanisms to ensure regional security.
During the session, the main focus was on developing unified approaches to assessing current security threats and challenges in the region, as well as improving the effectiveness of cooperation between intelligence services in addressing these challenges.
The parties discussed relevant issues of regional security, including the fight against terrorism, extremism, the illegal trafficking of drugs and weapons, transnational crime, as well as ensuring information and cyber security, along with other areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
This event marked an important step in the development of cooperation among Central Asian states in the field of security and laid the foundation for regular meetings of intelligence service leaders to strengthen peace and stability in the region.
