Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, the First Forum of the fruit and vegetable industry of Uzbekistan began its work in Tashkent, organized by the International Center for Strategic Development and Research in Food and Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the Horticulture Development Project funded by the European Union and implemented by the World Bank.
Representatives of associations of the fruit and vegetable industry of Uzbekistan, local and international experts, as well as representatives of business and the media were invited to participate in the Forum.
The main goal of the Forum is to directly participate in the practical implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Agricultural Sector of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, review implementation plans and designate indicators together with associations of fruit and vegetable producers, representatives of science and business, as well as a general contribution to the reform of the agricultural sector.
The event provides an opportunity to create effective and productive communication between local fruit and vegetable exporters, provide analytical information on the fruit and vegetable market, exchange views and disseminate best practices of local and foreign producers, exporters and importers, as well as discuss a number of issues on cooperation in the field of cultivation and export.
The event also includes panel discussions and a presentation of ShirinMeva magazine for fruit and vegetable business. This regular publication presents analytical materials of domestic and foreign experts on new markets, cultivation and processing technologies, characteristics of agricultural crops and varieties for cultivation in the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan.
