Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Classes have begun in Tashkent region at the branch of the Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU), Dunyo news agency reported.
ASTU became the first in a series of educational institutions of Astrakhan region that opened a branch abroad. Now students, without leaving their country, will be able to become qualified specialists for the fishing industry of Uzbekistan.
“Students will be able to acquire knowledge in hydrobiology, hydrochemistry, ichthyopathology, fish farming, fishing and processing, protection and conservation of aquatic biological resources,” writes the Internet edition Astrakhanpost. "These areas are in demand in Uzbekistan, and before that, not a single university in the country trained specialists in the fishing industry."
As the Astrakhan 24 TV channel informs, the decision to establish the Tashkent branch of the ASTU was made in April 2018. Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin noted the importance of such a step for the implementation of plans for international and foreign economic relations. Its implementation will help forge closer ties between countries, and this is only the first step.
