Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The first flight of Malaysia Airlines was solemnly welcomed in Tashkent. The aircraft landed at Tashkent International Airport on 9 July at 07:30 local time. The aircraft, which made the first passenger flight on the route Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent - Kuala Lumpur, according to tradition, was solemnly greeted with a water arch.
On the first Malaysia Airlines charter flight from Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent, carried out on an A330-200 aircraft, 92 passengers arrived, including the management of the national carrier of Malaysia. Passengers in the terminal were solemnly greeted on the red carpet to the sounds of karnay and surnay.
The flight from Kuala Lumpur was carried out under an agreement between the Malaysian national airline Malaysia Airlines and the Uzbek tour operator Osmon Aero. It is planned that flights on the route Kuala Lumpur - Tashkent - Kuala Lumpur will be operated on a charter basis every 10 days. Direct flights will increase the attractiveness of Malaysia and Uzbekistan for sightseeing and pilgrimage tourism.
