Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 November 2022, the ceremony of awarding the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov with the Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun was held at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

In accordance with tradition, the order was presented by the Emperor of Japan Naruhito in the presence of Prime Minister Fumio Kishido.

Awarding the "Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun" confirms the recognition of many years of contribution to strengthening friendly relations between Japan and Uzbekistan.

This order is the oldest in Japan and the highest degree (out of 6 degrees) of the Order of the Rising Sun, which has been awarded since 1875.
