The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia calls on fellow citizens "not to succumb to provocations and show forethought"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation again warns compatriots against participating in hostilities on the territory of foreign states, for which criminal liability has been established. This was stated by the Press Service of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation.

The Embassy draws attention to the fact that, in accordance with the Law on Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a person who is a citizen of the Republic of Uzbekistan is not recognized as belonging to the citizenship of a foreign state. Citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan is lost from the date of issuance of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In this regard, the diplomatic mission recalls that, in accordance with Article 154 “Mercenary” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the crime is unlawful participation in armed conflicts or military operations on the territory of a foreign state. For the commission of this act, liability is provided in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years.

The Embassy warns citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan that all persons, without exception, in respect of whom there is objective information about a committed illegal act under the above article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, will be held criminally liable.

The Embassy calls on our compatriots not to succumb to provocations and to exercise forethought.
