Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 30 December 2020, a meeting of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva.

The Chairperson of the Senate noted that in the Address of the head of state to the country’s parliament, the development of all spheres is determined, the tasks are determined specifically for each direction. And they are based on social issues - ensuring the well-being of the people, promptly eliminating the problems of residents, supporting young people. The proposal to call 2021 the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population was met with enthusiasm by the people.

Today, 60 percent of the population is young people, so much attention is paid to their health, development, upbringing and education. The Address touches upon issues of comprehensive social support. For the first time, it noted material and spiritual support for children with disabilities.

The tasks for further strengthening the dialogue with the people and public relations were noted. In this direction, measures have been identified to strengthen parliamentary control over the implementation of tasks to create an effective system for solving problems of concern to the population, increase the social and political activity of youth, targeted support and assistance in ensuring the employment of women, including those who find themselves in a difficult social situation. and ensuring gender equality.

The meeting adopted a resolution to convene the eleventh plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 6 January 2021.

During the plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconference, it is planned to discuss a number of issues. Among them are the priority tasks defined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis, and it is also envisaged to consider the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan", "On Approval of the Urban Planning Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan", "On Cultural activities and cultural organizations ".

Along with this, at the meeting of the Kengash, issues were considered on the effective organization of the activities of the Senate Commission of the Oliy Majlis for monitoring the activities of the prosecutor’s office and on the participation of the senator, who works on a permanent basis in the Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism A. Tuychiev, observer missions of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States in the early elections of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

A corresponding resolution was adopted.
