The developed measures for the comprehensive socio-economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2020-2023 were discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17-18 October this year, a working group led by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and consisting of heads of ministries, departments and commercial banks made visits to all regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Nukus to monitor the execution of instructions to stimulate the socio-economic development of the region, given during the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as to further study existing problematic issues and develop targeted measures to resolve them.

During field visits and direct communication with residents of makhallas and rural gatherings of citizens in each district, priority tasks were identified and specific proposals were prepared to stimulate economic development and improve the well-being of the population, which will be included in the draft government decision on a comprehensive social economic development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The draft document was presented and discussed at meetings of the Kengashes of People’s Deputies of the regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Nukus, which made it possible to identify real problems of the population and develop effective proposals for their solution.

The practical aspects of implementing a number of social and infrastructure projects and measures to accelerate their implementation were also worked out.

The target parameters of the programs being developed to improve the welfare of the population of the regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, which are lagging behind in 24 main indicators of socio-economic development, were studied in a separate order. The progress of preparation of individual programs for the integrated development of 45 makhallas with the most difficult socio-economic situation was also considered.

In this context, the need was noted for a thorough study of the investment and industrial potential of the region in order to identify and use points of economic growth and develop specific project proposals.

They also discussed issues related to the implementation of a number of investment projects aimed at accelerating the development of industry and agriculture and ensuring employment of the population through the creation of high-tech export-oriented industries.

Special attention was paid to the need to take into account all the objects of the social, engineering and communication infrastructure of the region, in need of construction, reconstruction, overhaul and equipment with the necessary equipment, and to develop appropriate targeted measures. In particular, an urgent need was noted for the development of the health sector in Kanlykul district, the sphere of preschool education in Ellikalli district, the service sector in Takhiatash and Nukus districts, strengthening the road infrastructure in Kegeilin and Muynak districts and the drinking water supply system in Karauzyak and Chimbay districts.

Based on the results of the work carried out, a video conference was held with the participation of the heads of ministries, departments and commercial banks assigned to the city of Nukus and all regions of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, as well as the chairman and deputy chairmen of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims and heads of sectors of the city of Nukus and all regions Of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, during which targeted instructions were given to comprehensively take into account the comments and proposals of the deputies of local Kengashes in the draft government decision on the comprehensive development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
