Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 January 2023, First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Furkat Sidikov received Mission Director of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Uzbekistan Mikaela Meredith.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and USAID, issues of implementing priority programs and projects.

M. Meredith confirmed USAID’s firm commitment to assisting the republic in the implementation of the tasks outlined in the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026.

The positive results of the ongoing reforms in our country in the areas of modernizing the public administration system, liberalizing the economy and other areas were noted.

An exchange of views took place on planned visits and joint events.
