Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a discussion in the format of a video conference from a studio in Urgench, during which the progress of the execution of instructions given following the visits of the Head of State to the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region, as well as instructions given during the working visits of the Government Commission on foreign trade, investment, development of local industry and technical regulation in these regions. They also discussed the current indicators of the socio-economic development of the two regions and the priority tasks for its further stimulation.

A few days before the event, working groups consisting of heads of ministries, departments, industry associations and commercial banks were sent to the regions in order to travel to districts and cities in order to study the situation on the ground and organize targeted work with entrepreneurs and the local population.

During the discussion, the heads of local authorities of the regional, district and city levels reported on the work done and the results achieved, and at the same time voiced a number of problematic issues, the solution of which requires coordinated interaction of state structures and commercial banks. Responsible managers were given targeted instructions to develop effective algorithms for solving the problems voiced and to immediately start implementing them.

The course of implementation of regional investment programs was studied. In the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2021-2022, it is planned to implement 652 investment projects worth 8.5 trillion soums, due to which 12 198 new jobs will be created. In Khorezm region, 685 investment projects with a total value of 9.3 trillion soums will be implemented, which will create 14,909 new jobs. Instructed to speed up the implementation of approved projects and the commissioning of new production facilities.

The heads of sectoral economic associations presented information on the analysis of the structure of imports carried out in the context of districts and cities and presented proposals for the development of new projects for the localization of production of products in demand on the domestic market and the creation of industrial clusters in promising industries.

The execution of instructions given in the course of open dialogues held with entrepreneurs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Khorezm region in April of this year was considered: an analysis of the effectiveness of the work of responsible leaders was carried out, measures were developed to accelerate the resolution of certain issues that are at the stage of development.

The current state of the integrated development of districts and cities was also discussed, the urgent tasks facing the heads of local authorities were identified and targeted instructions were given to the heads of the relevant ministries, departments and commercial banks to address existing problematic issues.

As a result of the meeting, additional guidelines were given to accomplish the assigned tasks. In the near future, the working groups will continue their field work in these regions.
