Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Council of Rectors of the leading agricultural universities of the CIS was held online. The leaders summed up the results of 2021 and outlined the main tasks for the coming year. The meeting was attended by the heads of 19 universities of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
On behalf of the rector of the RSAU-Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Vladimir Ivanovich Trukhachev, Vice-Rector for Science, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Ivan Yuryevich Svinarev made a report at the meeting. He told colleagues about the university’s achievements in 2021.
The Vice-Rector recalled that in the outgoing year, the Timiryazev Academy became one of the winners of both the basic and the elite parts of the Priority 2030 strategic academic leadership program. The state supported the development program of the University "Agro Breakthrough 2030".
I.Yu. Svinarev spoke about the plans for the development of the Timiryazev Academy in the next decade and the transformation of the university into an international scientific and educational center:
- Our plans and opportunities, scientific interests are inseparable from a common goal - high-quality training for agribusiness. Its present and future, the future of our research projects and academic prospects depend on the efforts and contributions of each of us.
At the end of his speech, the Vice-Rector, on behalf of the Timiryazev Academy staff, congratulated the Council members on the coming New Year.
The meeting discussed the most significant achievements of CIS universities. The participants of the event noted that recently agricultural universities have been actively developing as research and entrepreneurial universities, improving their positions in world and national rankings.
An agreement was reached between the universities of the CIS to continue work on the exchange of experience in the development of agricultural education and science. As a result of the meeting, tasks for the coming year were outlined - the formation of the concept of a digital university, the development of innovations in the agro-industrial complex and the introduction of research results into production. Also in 2022, representatives of CIS universities will take part in the International Congress on Safe and Sustainable Agriculture in the Era of Accelerated Climate Change, which will be held on the basis of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University.
In addition to the vice-rector of the RSAU-Moscow Agricultural Academy named after K.A. Timiryazev and the rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, within the framework of the meeting, reports were presented by the heads and representatives of the Azerbaijan State Agrarian University, the Kyrgyz National Agrarian University named after K.I. Scriabin, the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan and the State Agrarian University of Moldova.
