In recent years, the process of construction and modernization, based on reforms in the field of hydropower and investment projects, has been proceeding rapidly.
In order to strengthen the legal framework for construction and modernization in the field of hydropower, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted relevant resolutions and orders. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
In particular, on 29 January 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution "On measures for the implementation of the investment project" Construction of a small hydroelectric power station at the Sardobinsky reservoir ", in accordance with which Uzbekhydroenergo began work on the construction of a small hydroelectric power station at the Sardobinsky reservoir.
The start of construction was marked by the traditional ceremony of laying the first brick in the foundation of the future hydroelectric power station. The governor of the region, Gofurjon Mirzaev, the head of the capital construction department Mahammad Atakhanov and other heads of departments of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, as well as members of the management and specialists of the To`palang HPD irrigation systems unitary construction company, took part in it.
Implementation of the investment project "Construction of a small hydroelectric power station at the Sardobinsky reservoir" is scheduled for 2020-2022, the total cost of the project is estimated at 21.3 million euros.
The feasibility study of the investment project was examined in the prescribed manner. The investment project is planned to be financed through direct external loans of Roseximbank of the Russian Federation.
It should be noted that as part of the project, negotiations were held with Power Machines - ZTL, LMZ, Electrosila, Energomashexport, which acts as the main contractor. An agreement was signed for an amount equivalent to 19.2 million euros. Uzbekhydroenergo itself will also contribute to the financing of the project in the amount of EUR 3.7 million.
In accordance with the project, the installed capacity of the hydroelectric power station is 10.7 MW. Two hydroelectric units are planned to be installed at the hydroelectric power station, each of which will have a capacity of 5.35 MW and an annual production capacity of 41.1 million kWh.
The customer of this investment project is the unitary enterprise “1st Construction Directorate”, which is part of the organizational structure of Uzbekhydroenergo.
The commissioning of new hydroelectric power plants built by SC Uzbekhydroenergo on the basis of investment projects will serve to further meet the demand of the population for electricity.
