Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the Law “On cultural activities and cultural organizations”.

The law defines the competencies of the state bodies which implementing the state policy in the field of cultural activities.

In particular, the Government ensures the implementation of a unified state policy in this area, as well as coordinates the activities of government bodies in this area.

According to the Law, everyone has the right to property in the field of cultural activities.

Ownership may extend to items of historical, scientific, artistic or other cultural value, as well as objects of material cultural heritage.

Cultural organizations, depending on the types of cultural activities, are divided into the following categories:

● cultural and entertainment organizations;

● cultural and educational organizations;

● other cultural organizations.

Cultural organizations are created by the owner or a person authorized by him or on the basis of an order of the authorized body.

State institutions and cultural organizations for achievements in the field of culture and art by the President, on the proposal of the Government, can be assigned the status of "National" or "Academic".

Attestation of state institutions and cultural organizations is carried out once every three years.

The law comes into force from the day of its official publication.
