The closure of the “Davud Ota” checkpoint extended until 1 September 2025 due to reconstruction works

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  The temporary restriction on crossing the border at the “Davud Ota” border and customs checkpoint has been extended by an additional four months, now lasting until 1 September 2025.

It was previously reported that the checkpoint would be closed for three months starting from 1 February 2025.

According to the Committee of State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the decision to extend the closure was made in coordination with the Uzbek side.

This measure is due to ongoing construction and reconstruction work at the neighboring “Tazhen” checkpoint on the Kazakh side, as well as the modernization of the adjacent infrastructure. The works include major repairs, installation of engineering networks, and road improvements on the neutral territory.

Citizens are advised to take these restrictions into account when planning their trips through this border crossing.
