Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The closure of the Samarkand airport is extended until 15 December 2021. This was reported by the press service of Uzbekistan Airports.

“At the international airport “Samarkand” work continues on the preparation for the commissioning of a new airfield complex and new air navigation equipment. In this connection, the closure of the airport is extended until 15 December,” Uzbekistan Airports notes.

The company noted that all flights will continue to be redirected to other international airports of the republic - Navoi, Bukhara, Karshi, from where a ground transfer to Samarkand will be organized for passengers.

As a reminder, the construction of a new airfield complex continues in Samarkand in preparation for the SCO summit, which will be held in 2022.
