The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Better Cotton discuss support for cotton clusters
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Dilshod Rasulov, held a meeting with Eva Clayton, Director of Membership and Supply Chain at the international organization Better Cotton.
During the negotiations, information was presented on the current activities of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and its future plans. The parties also discussed prospects for joint projects.
Better Cotton is an international nonprofit organization promoting sustainable cotton farming practices. It develops environmentally friendly standards, trains farmers in efficient techniques, and supports improvements in labor conditions within the cotton industry.
Eva Clayton noted that Better Cotton has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2022 and has already provided practical assistance in obtaining Better Cotton certification for nine cotton clusters in the country.
In turn, Dilshod Rasulov spoke about the benefits and incentives offered by the Uzbek government to cotton growers and cotton clusters.
Following the talks, the parties agreed to continue cooperation in assisting Uzbek cotton producers and clusters in accessing international markets through the acquisition of Better Cotton certification.
