Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- These days, a delegation led by Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva is on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
It should be noted that in recent years, the multifaceted cooperation relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE have reached a new level. The official visit of the head of our state to this country opened a new page in the history of friendship and partnership between the two countries, gave a powerful impetus to the expansion of large-scale cooperation. During the visit, documents were signed on issues of trade, economy, investment, energy, agriculture and tourism, as well as trade, economic and investment contracts worth more than 10 billion US dollars.
At the same time, inter-parliamentary ties between our countries are developing dynamically. The delegation headed by the Chairman of the Senate met with the Chairman of the Federal National Council of the UAE Saqr Ghobash.
During the dialogue, an exchange of views took place on ensuring sustainable ties between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and the UAE, in particular, establishing cooperation in terms of legislative activity and parliamentary control. It was also emphasized that mutual exchange of experience on issues of gender equality and youth is expedient.
Chairwoman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva noted that one of the important mechanisms for the development of relations between our countries at all levels is inter-parliamentary cooperation, and stressed the need to establish systemic parliamentary control over the implementation of the tasks defined in the "road maps" adopted on the basis of agreements reached at the highest level. level and also development of interaction with the Parliament of the Emirates in this area, activation of the activities of "friendship groups", which is an important aspect of "people’s diplomacy".
The parliamentarians of the two countries stressed the presence of many untapped opportunities in various areas of cooperation, the need for a wide use of experience in various sectors of the economy. It was proposed to establish mutual cooperation between parliaments to improve legislation, which serves to implement the agreements reached in the trade, economic, investment and service sectors.
In turn, the Chairman of the Federal National Council of the UAE Saqr Ghobash highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out by the leadership of Uzbekistan, primarily on social protection of the population, economic development and liberalization.
Gobash noted that trade, economic and investment cooperation is a priority of the Emirates in bilateral relations. Taking into account that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays special attention to this important issue, the Federal National Council of the UAE expressed its readiness to work closely with representatives of the Oliy Majlis in the field of improving investment legislation in Uzbekistan.
During the conversation, it was noted that both sides are equally interested in the development of comprehensive cooperation, including inter-parliamentary relations. In particular, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and the Federal National Council agreed on such issues as the implementation of agreements reached at the highest level, the establishment of cooperation between relevant committees, and the exchange of experience in the implementation of an electronic parliament.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal National Council of the United Arab Emirates, covering the issues of effective implementation of parliamentary activities, legislative and control functions of the parliament, aimed at developing and strengthening political, trade, economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian , tourism and other ties between the two states, as well as expanding the exchange of information and experience in developing the practice of applying legislative acts in trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian, scientific, technical, tourism and other fields.
