Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On further improvement of the system of providing hematological and oncological services to the population”.

According to the resolution, the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology was established under the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology.

From 1 January 2022, this Center is leaving the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology and will began to operate as an independent center. 

The activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology with 300 beds will be organized on the basis of the newly built medical institution until 1 September 2021.

Moreover, the practice of bone marrow stem cell transplantation will be introduced at the first stage in the Republican specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Hematology, and later also in the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology. 

In 2021-2022, departments of pediatric hematology and oncology will be established in children's multidisciplinary medical centers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the regions on the basis of departments of pediatric hematology.

According to the resolution, an additional 60 billion soums in 2021 and from 2022 at least 125 billion soums for expenses related to the improvement of cancer care and the further development of the oncological service will be allocated from the state budget.
