Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As of 1 July 2021, in all categories of farms, the number of sheep and goats, compared to the corresponding period of 2020, increased by 40.3 thousand heads and their total number reached 4.63 million heads.
Of the total number of sheep and goats in the republic, dekhkan (personal subsidiary) farms account for 81.7%, farms - 13.0%, and organizations carrying out agricultural activities - 5.3%.
In relation to the corresponding period of 2020, growth was observed in farms by 5.3%, dehkan (personal subsidiary) farms - by 1.1% and organizations engaged in agricultural activities - by 4.9%.
The largest share of the total number of sheep and goats among the regions fell to share of Kashkadarya region (20.8%). Also, a significant share was noted in Surkhandarya (10.9%), Samarkand (10.7%) and Navoi (10.4%) regions.
