The assets of Uzbek banks exceed 769 trillion soums: Who leads the sector?
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of 1 January 2025, the total assets of commercial banks in Uzbekistan amounted to 769.33 trillion soums, according to data published by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
State-owned banks accounted for 503.18 trillion soums, representing 65% of the total assets, while non-state banks held 266.14 trillion soums, or 35%.
The leader in terms of assets was UzNatsbank, with assets totaling 135.09 trillion soums, equivalent to 18% of the total banking sector assets.
Uzpromstroybank ranked second with assets of 87.6 trillion soums, representing 11% of the sector's total.
Agrobank secured third place with assets of 79.4 trillion soums, which makes up 10% of the country's banking sector.
Among non-state banks, the largest by assets were Ipoteka Bank with 52.07 trillion soums (7% of the sector), Kapitalbank with 47.36 trillion soums (6%), and Hamkorbank with 28.71 trillion soums (4%).
The smallest asset volumes were recorded by Poytakhtbank at 460 billion soums, Yangi Bank with 377 billion soums, and Eurasian Bank with assets of 162 billion soums.
Among state-owned banks, the smallest asset volumes were reported by Microcreditbank with 23.54 trillion soums, Alokabank with 23.25 trillion soums, and Turonbank, whose assets stood at 17.58 trillion soums.
