Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - At a regular meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility" was considered article by article.
The bill stipulates the introduction of amendments based on the degree of danger of offenses, the amount of fines for administrative offenses provided for in Article 5 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility is significantly reduced. In particular, the fine for driving vehicles with expired insurance policies or a person not covered by the insurance policy is halved.
Also, the penalty for non-receipt by vehicle owners of an insurance policy for citizens is reduced by half, for officials - by one third. The penalty for illegal acquisition or sale by citizens of currency values is set in the range from ten to twenty basic calculated values.
The draft law under discussion reduces the fine for violating the accounting and reporting procedure with respect to officials by almost half, and the fine for engaging in activities involving the carriage of passengers by road without a license is set in a fixed form with a decrease of more than three times.
A fine is proposed for allowing citizens to live in the residential premises they occupy without identity documents, without a temporary or permanent residence permit, or without taking into account the place of stay, it is proposed to set it in the amount of 735 thousand soums, for repeated commitments within a year - 1.225 million soums.
In the opinion of the deputies, the adoption of this draft law will make it possible to bring the established amounts of administrative penalties in line with the principles of humanism and justice.
At the meeting, the bill was adopted in the third reading.
