The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Jordan Presented His Credentials to King Abdullah II
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 June 2025, the newly appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Nodirjon Turgunov, presented his credentials to King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein. The solemn ceremony took place at the Basman Palace in Amman, according to the Dunyо news agency.
During the dialogue that followed the ceremony, the Uzbek diplomat conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Head of the Jordanian state.
King Abdullah II expressed his sincere gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan and wished the newly appointed ambassador success in his important mission. He also expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly and historically established relations between the two countries will further develop and reach a qualitatively new level.
The King assured that the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the ambassador personally will receive comprehensive support in strengthening interstate dialogue and expanding cooperation in various fields.
Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Jordan were established on 15 February 1993.
It is worth recalling that earlier, on 28 May, Nodirjon Turgunov handed over copies of his credentials to Majid Al-Qatarneh, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs of Jordan.
Nodirjon Turgunov arrived in Riyadh in March 2024 as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia. In November of the same year, he was accredited as the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. In April 2025, he also presented copies of his credentials to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, becoming Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to that country.
