Recently, there has been an intensification of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, including in the health sector. Thus, conferences held on an ongoing basis, scientific and practical training courses and internships for medical specialists, exchange of experience and mutual assistance, vividly demonstrated in a difficult epidemiological situation due to a new coronavirus infection, became a manifestation of solidarity. In particular, the Ministry of Health of Russia in a short time worked out the issue of sending 75 leading Russian medical specialists to Uzbekistan to provide methodological and practical assistance to their Uzbek colleagues in the fight against coronavirus.
Also, the Ministry of Health of Russia, in cooperation with the Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare, provided Uzbekistan with 1,400 sets of test systems for conducting 140,000 studies, which made it possible to timely identify and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A particularly significant vector of cooperation during the pandemic was also the meetings and negotiations held on a regular basis in the format of videoconferences, at which common methods, new methodologies and protocols for the prevention and treatment of various diseases, including coronavirus infection, were developed. This contributed to an effective exchange of experience and coordination of actions between the ministries of health, services for ensuring human well-being and other medical institutions of the two countries.
Minister Mikhail Murashko thanked for the award and expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation, including the opening of branches of Russian universities in Uzbekistan.
