Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Hearings were held by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on democratic institutions, non-governmental organizations and self-government bodies of citizens and the Commission on Youth Issues.
During the event, information was heard from the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs R. Turdibayeva “On the wide promotion among young people of the ideas of a healthy lifestyle and the sanctity of the family, the prevention of early marriages and divorce of young families.”
It is noted that the family has long been considered sacred in our country. The role of the family in the formation and improvement of the spirituality of any nation is invaluable. The Basic Law determines that the family is the basis of the unit of society and has the right to be under the protection of society and the state.
But recently, the number of family divorces has increased due to the early marriage of girls, whose interests and aspirations are sometimes not read by parents.
Unfortunately, today, instead of preparing young people for a family, accustoming them to responsibility, some people are more striving for luxury, wealth, which negatively affects the stability of the family.
Today, there are 9,503,244 families throughout the country, of which the number of young families under the age of 30 is 2,886,296, only at the end of October of this year, 214,923 marriages were registered. Moreover, in January-October 2022, 40,200 family divorces were registered, including 17,628 families that have been married for less than 5 years.
During the hearing, the deputies asked questions about the measures taken by the committee to prevent family divorces and early marriage of girls.
According to R. Turdibayeva, 60,580 couples were trained in the centers for preparing young people for family life in order to prepare newlyweds for family life and prevent divorces.
Under the motto "Prosperous family - the basis of the future", 109,594 promotional activities to strengthen the family were held. Most importantly, the marriage of 12,710 families living without official registration was registered.
Also, notebooks for individual work with representatives of conflict families for activists in mahallas have been put into practice, thanks to this mechanism, the situation in 23,804 conflict families that are on the verge of divorce has been stabilized.
As noted in the information, significant work has been done to prevent early marriages and early births. In particular, 33,509 explanatory events were held to prevent early marriages, early births and unwanted pregnancies.
Along with this, together with the Ministry of Health, explanatory work is carried out in the educational institutions of the "Club of Girls" on the principle of "peer-to-peer".
The deputies noted that the number of divorces among young people is not decreasing, despite the large-scale work carried out to ensure family stability, promote national values and prevent divorces.
It was emphasized that it is expedient to improve the work of women activists of mahallas with citizens, conduct explanatory work and strengthen the institution of public control, which will give effective results.
The event critically assessed the activities of the committee due to the small amount of work carried out in this direction, noted the need to further strengthen mutual cooperation between organizations.
During the hearings, proposals and recommendations were made to strengthen propaganda at the lower levels, develop programs to prepare young people for a family, and most importantly, focus on their education or profession. It was emphasized that in order to achieve work efficiency, it is necessary to combine efforts and solve existing problems together.
An appropriate decision was made on the issues on the agenda.
