Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fact is that human trafficking has become transnational, that is, a crime that does not choose territory and borders, the number of its victims is increasing, and Uzbekistan is no exception. Therefore, the law enforcement agencies of the republic are taking the necessary measures against human trafficking.
In particular, on 13 December, during an operational event carried out jointly by the organized crime department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of Tashkent region and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, M.Yu., born in 1978, residing in the Yukori-Chirchik district, was detained while he was sending two sisters to India at Tashkent International Airport.
The arrested person promised sisters from Namangan (19 and 27 years old) high-salary jobs in India.
It turned out that the common-law spouse of the detainee is currently in India. She meets girls and creates conditions for them to engage in prostitution. The couple planned to earn money on human trafficking. They paid the girls travel and visa expenses to India.
At present, a criminal case has been initiated against the detainee and his wife. Measures are also being taken to arrest (extradite) a 32-year-old woman involved in the crime, who lives in Parkent district, and is currently in India.
