Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 May 2022, the 7th round of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Italy was held in Rome.
The delegations of the parties were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov and Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Manlio Di Stefano.
During the talks, the state and prospects for the development of relations between Uzbekistan and Italy in political, trade, economic, investment, tourism, cultural, humanitarian and other fields were discussed in detail.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of enhancing economic diplomacy. In this context, proposals were considered to increase mutual trade, implement promising joint investment projects and trade contracts.
Separate aspects of interaction within the framework of the UN, the EU, the dialogue "Italy - Central Asia" and other multilateral structures are analyzed.
Mutual interest was expressed in deepening cooperation in the field of culture, healthcare, expanding contacts between scientific institutions and educational institutions.
An exchange of views also took place on expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation with the development of relevant and practically significant documents.
