Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – The 32nd meeting of the CIS Healthcare Cooperation Council takes place in a videoconference format.
The meeting chaired by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov was attended by the ministers of health of the Council member states - Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Moldova and Armenia, responsible persons of the sphere, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe. The event was also attended by the leaders of specialized scientific and practical medical centers of our country from the Uzbek side.
It should be noted that this year all meetings of the Council are chaired by Uzbekistan. The conference discussed a plan of joint actions of the CIS countries to combat COVID-19, the problems of sanitary protection in the Commonwealth space, the activities of the Expert Council of the CIS member states on diabetes and other important issues.
At the 32nd meeting of the Council, important decisions were made within the framework of international cooperation between the countries of the commonwealth in the field of healthcare. In particular, the following important issues on the agenda were considered:
- development of a unified approach to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the exchange of information on the treatment and rehabilitation of infected patients, scientific experiments, success in the creation of drugs and vaccines;
- submission by 25 December 2020 to the Council of analytical data on the seasonal increase in the incidence of acute respiratory infections and influenza and the state of immunity of the population in the CIS countries;
- development of certain medical programs within the framework of the strategy of economic development of the CIS countries for the period up to 2030;
- implementation of cooperation on the implementation of the Concept of interaction in the field of combating cancer in 2020-2024;
- further improvement at the next meeting of the Council of the activities of the Association of Directors of Institutes and Centers of Oncology and X-ray Radiology of the CIS and Eurasia;
- consideration of the experience of interagency cooperation in limiting the marketing of harmful products in the framework of the prevention of non-communicable diseases;
- exchange of experience on the widespread introduction of ICT in the health systems of the countries of the commonwealth;
- ensuring the active participation of ministries of health in over 30 events that will be held in 2021 on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the CIS in the Republic of Belarus and Uzbekistan;
- summing up the results of the activities of the Council chaired by Uzbekistan in 2020;
At the end of the videoconference, plans for 2021 were considered, issues for discussion at the next meeting of the Council were identified.
