Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 24th Asian Regional Conference of Interpol, timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the world police organization, has completed its work in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This was reported by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The conference brought together over 150 law enforcement leaders from 42 countries for a three-day high-level exchange of views on some of the most pressing policing issues in the Asian region.
The delegation of our country at the conference was represented by the leadership of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Tashkent.
At the meeting, delegates discussed such topics as the booming synthetic drug trade in the region, human trafficking in Southeast Asia, measures to better counter current and emerging forms of terrorism in the region, efforts to combat cybercrime, child sexual exploitation via the Internet, and others. .
“In a world where crime knows no borders, the diversity of Asia is one of our greatest strengths,” said Interpol President Ahmed Naser Al Raisi, “I am confident that the discussions in this room will determine the future of policing in Asia and beyond. outside."
At the 2023 Regional Conference, INTERPOL presented a strategy aimed at further strengthening partnerships in the Asian region, in particular through better sharing of biometric data, and strengthening the capacity of regional law enforcement agencies through new technologies such as digital forensics tools and artificial intelligence.
The past conference will serve as a springboard for interregional dialogue on consolidating efforts in the fight against transnational crime in all its manifestations.
