The 15th meeting of the SCO Youth Council will be held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the chairmanship of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, on 9-10 June 2022, the 15th meeting of the SCO Youth Council will be held in Tashkent.

The meeting will be attended by delegations of the SCO member states headed by the leaders of the national parts of the Youth Council, as well as representatives of the secretariats of the SCO and the Youth Council.

In the modern information age and in the era of globalization, the role of youth in the economic and social growth and development of countries cannot be overestimated. This directly applies to the vast expanse of the SCO with a population of more than 3.2 billion people, of which more than 55% are young people.

In this context, the forthcoming Tashkent meeting of the SCO Youth Council attracts great attention of the world community. The meeting will consider a wide range of issues on the realization of opportunities for the youth of the region, the joint development and implementation of new programs and projects to increase the intellectual potential and their employment.

The Tashkent meeting is full of meaningful events. In particular, there will be an awards ceremony for the winners of the final stage of the Unicorns SCO: Competition for the best start-up projects among SCO youth, which will be attended by honorary representatives of the SCO Youth Council from the SCO member states.

It should be noted that the startup competition is held among the talented youth of the SCO member states, observers and dialogue partners for the first time. The purpose of the competition is to assist young people to contribute to the development of the countries and the SCO region through the implementation of start-up projects and innovative solutions.

Participants of the Tashkent meeting will also get acquainted with reports containing concrete facts and results on a wide range of opportunities and existing benefits created for youth in Uzbekistan and other SCO member states.

In addition, the parties will exchange views on expanding cooperation in such key areas as innovative and scientific and technical cooperation among young people, creating platforms for the mutual exchange of experience of young professionals, and building their potential.

As a result of the meeting, the work plan of the SCO Youth Council for 2022-2023 is expected to be approved.
