Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution “On a wide celebration on an international scale of the 1050th anniversary of the great thinker and scientist-encyclopedist Abu Rayhon Beruni” was adopted.

According to the resolution, in 2022-2023, the 1050th anniversary of the birth of the great thinker and scientist-encyclopedist Abu Rayhon Beruni will be widely celebrated at the international level under the auspices of UNESCO.

Based on this, including:

international tourist routes "Buyuk Beruniy Merosi" will be established;

construction will be carried out in the Beruniy district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan by the end of 2023 of the Abu Rayhon Beruni complex;

manuscripts and other cultural values related to the scientific and creative heritage of the scientist will be restored;

A laboratory specializing in the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage sites will be organized in the Karakalpak branch of the Academy of Sciences and the Khorezm Academy of Mamun;

The international subject Olympiad named after Abu Rayhon Beruni will be held in the Khorezm region.

Also, an international award named after Abu Rayhon Beruni will be established.

Until December 2022, a special program "Beruni and Youth" will be developed, a mobile application will be created that includes information about the life of Abu Rayhon Beruni, his scientific and educational works.

In accordance with the Decree, measures will be taken to publish the complete works of the scientist in Uzbek, Karakalpak, Russian, English, Arabic and Farsi.
