Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 1050th anniversary of the birth of Abu Raikhan Beruni will be widely celebrated with the participation of UNESCO.

In 2022-2023, with the participation of UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), the 1050th anniversary of the birth of our great ancestor, the great scientist and philosopher Abu Raikhan Beruni, will be celebrated.

According to the Chairman of the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO, Aziz Abdukhakimov, the decision was made at the 211st session of the Executive Board of UNESCO.

It should be noted that this proposal was developed at the initiative of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the support of Tajikistan, Iran and Turkey. This issue will now be submitted for approval to the 41st session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris, France, this November.

“I sincerely congratulate everyone on another important step in expanding cooperation between our country and UNESCO,” said Aziz Abdukhakimov.
