Textile Alliance: Tashkent and Minsk Launch Joint Wool Fabric Production

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Davron Vakhabov held a series of negotiations in Belarus aimed at deepening industrial cooperation in the textile sector. Meetings were held with Nadezhda Lazarevich, Chairperson of the Bellegprom Concern, and Tatyana Lugina, CEO of JSC Kamvol.

The main focus was expanding collaboration with JSC Kamvol, one of the region’s largest textile companies with a full production cycle from yarn spinning to fabric manufacturing.

The parties discussed concrete areas of cooperation, including advanced wool processing and the establishment of joint production of wool yarn and fabrics. Plans for systematic supply of Belarusian finished products to the Uzbek market were also addressed.

Special attention was given to a project to establish facilities in Uzbekistan for producing specialized workwear using Belarusian materials. Plans include building a large-scale garment factory employing 500 workers, focusing on state orders to ensure stable production and guaranteed sales.

Participants emphasized that these initiatives represent a key step in strengthening industrial integration between Uzbekistan and Belarus. Joint textile projects are expected to create new jobs and combine the technological expertise of Belarusian manufacturers with Uzbekistan’s resource and production capacities.
