Termez awarded with Amir Temur order

Termez was awarded for its successes, achieved during independence years by its citizens in social-economic and cultural spheres, contribution to strengthening peace and stability, international friendship and harmony, preservation of the historical and cultural heritage, etc.

Amir Temur order was instituted in 1996 on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov within the celebrations of the 660th anniversary of Amir Temur.

The order is awarded for contributions to the strengthening of statehood, significant contributions to architecture, science, literature and art (including the martial arts).

It also awarded for special contribution to the strengthening of international cooperation, peace and friendship between peoples. The order can be conferred to foreigners.
