Tenth Plenary Session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis to Be Held on 4 September

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate of the Oliy Majlis held its regular Council meeting, during which a resolution was adopted to convene the tenth plenary session, scheduled for 4 September 2025.

During the upcoming session, parliamentarians plan to discuss key legislative initiatives, including draft laws on “Limited Liability Companies,” “State Social Insurance,” and “Publishing Activities.” In addition, draft laws amending certain regulatory acts aimed at accelerating Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO and improving the system for satisfying creditors’ claims on collateral will be considered.

Special attention at the plenary session will be given to a draft law proposing amendments to legislation to enhance the efficiency of transport service organization. Senators will also discuss matters of parliamentary oversight, including the General Prosecutor’s report on the activities of the prosecution bodies for 2024 and the National Report on Anti-Corruption Measures.

The agenda also includes issues related to changes in the administrative boundaries of certain areas in Samarkand Region, the direction of parliamentary inquiries on preventing student crime, and providing students with quality educational materials. Results of a parliamentary inquiry on the development of agriculture, strengthening the material and technical base of research institutes, and implementing scientific achievements in practice are also set to be reviewed.

Furthermore, senators will consider proposals to amend the composition of the Supreme Court, which will be one of the key issues of the upcoming session.
