Temporary Shutdown of EV Charging Stations Without Court Order Violates Entrepreneurs’ Rights — Business Ombudsman
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Business Ombudsman responded to reports of the temporary shutdown of electric vehicle charging stations in Tashkent and disruptions to entrepreneurs operating at these sites.
The statement emphasized that suspension of business activities or restriction of access to private property is permitted only on grounds and in the manner established by law, and, in necessary cases, exclusively by court order.
Any inventory or regulatory actions must respect entrepreneurs’ rights, avoid causing damage, provide prior notice, and allow time for coordination. Unauthorized shutdowns or damage to business property are considered violations of the guarantees for conducting business.
Based on complaints received from entrepreneurs, inspections are underway. The Business Ombudsman pledged to take action against officials found responsible for unlawful actions. Entrepreneurs can report such incidents via the short number 1100 or through @biznesombudsman_bot.
