Tekhnopark Fined in Tashkent for Exceeding Emission Limits and Environmental Violations
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of Uzbekistan announced measures against the management of Tekhnopark in Tashkent for violations of environmental regulations.
An inspection of the iron foundry in the Yashnabad district revealed that the enterprise, despite having dust and gas purification equipment, continued to release pollutants beyond established limits and had not undergone the mandatory environmental assessment.
Legal measures were taken against the company’s management, and Tekhnopark was charged increased compensation fees for air pollution. The enterprise was also issued directives to install automated monitoring stations, prevent emissions, and conduct the required environmental assessment.
The Ecology Committee emphasized that the Special Commission continues to monitor enterprises classified as Category I and II in terms of environmental impact.
Previously, the agency had required industrial facilities to reduce emissions by half by December 1. Failure to comply with these requirements results in a fivefold increase in compensation fees.
