Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A fatal accident occurred on 12 February in Samarkand region, claiming the life of a 17-year-old teenager, the regional Traffic Safety Department reported.

According to law enforcement officials, the tragedy took place in the Jambay district. The underage driver, who did not have a driver's license, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree.

He was urgently taken to the hospital with severe injuries, but despite doctors' efforts, his life could not be saved.

An investigation into the accident is currently underway.
