Teachers of universities not be attracted to meetings and other events

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution "On additional measures to improve the quality of education in higher educational institutions and ensure their active participation in the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country."

The document said that starting from 2019/2020 academic year in higher educational institutions the principle "student’s level of achievement is the main criterion for assessing the activity of professors and teachers" will be introduced.

At the same time, the resolution said that the measures will be taken to fire teachers and professors, who do not meet the requirements of this principle, the resolution said.

The head of Uzbekistan also instructed to revise development and approval in the established manner of new mechanisms of "time standards" of professors and teachers, taking into account training loads.

The Uzbek head prohibited to involve professors and teachers of higher educational institutions in meetings and other events not related to their tasks and activities.

President warned the heads of state bodies and organizations, khokims of all levels of personal responsibility for violating this requirement. The violators can be fired from their positions.
