Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In Tashkent, a taxi driver took advantage of a sleeping passenger to fraudulently secure a microloan of 12 million soums in her name.

The incident involved an intoxicated woman who boarded a ride-share taxi with two men already inside. Unable to provide her destination address, she handed her phone with geolocation enabled to the driver and fell asleep.

Exploiting her vulnerable state, the culprits used her smartphone to take out a microloan for 12 million soums.

The offenders have been apprehended, and a criminal case has been initiated against them, according to the Tashkent Police Department.
