Tatlift to Launch Elevator Production in Bukhara Region
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Russian company Tatlift plans to establish elevator manufacturing operations in Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region, according to the regional hokimiyat.
On 22 July, Bukhara region governor Botir Zaripov held a meeting with a delegation from Tatlift, led by the company’s director, Gulshat Zagidullina. The sides discussed the implementation of an investment project to be located in the Bukhara Special Industrial Park.
Preliminary estimates place the total investment at US$5.5 million. The future facility is expected to create around 150 jobs and will have the capacity to produce up to 2,000 elevators annually.
Following the talks, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Bukhara regional administration and Tatlift. In addition, separate agreements were concluded with partner enterprises involved in the project.
The initiative to create the plant was first discussed between Zaripov and Zagidullina during the “Russia – Islamic World” forum held in Kazan in May.
In early June, representatives of Tatlift visited Bukhara to present the project and inspect the allocated construction site.
