Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent Zoo has received two white lion cubs - eight-month-old Johnny and Jenny. This was reported by the press service of the capital's zoo.

The animals were brought from South Africa. White lion cubs are already in our enclosure, the zoo said.

The white lion is a rare color mutation (leucism) of a lion, in particular the South African lion. These animals are not considered albinos, their eyes and skin are of normal color. Due to their catchy color, it is difficult for them to survive in the wild. They also easily fall prey to other predators and poachers. In total, there are 300 white lions in the world, most of which are kept in zoos.
