Tashkent Warns Drivers Against Parking at Bus Stops
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Traffic safety officers from the Tashkent City Department of Public Security are conducting preventive operations to ensure smooth movement of public transport.
Authorities are paying special attention to drivers who stop or park at bus stops, obstructing bus access. According to the Traffic Safety Department (UBDD), most violations occur when drivers halt near shops and kiosks located next to stops to buy water, food, or other goods.
As a result, buses cannot reach the platform, forcing passengers to board or alight directly onto the roadway, increasing the risk of accidents.
During the operations, drivers are given preventive guidance, and administrative measures are applied to violators. Inspectors emphasize that bus stops are intended exclusively for public transport and passenger boarding, and personal convenience does not justify rule violations.
UBDD stresses that no individual driver’s convenience should create obstacles for buses or infringe on passenger rights. Adhering to these rules ensures the safety and comfort of all road users.
