Tashkent TPP announces a tender for the construction of turnkey gas turbine equipment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Tashkent TPP JSC intends to pre-qualify contractors for the turnkey construction (ECP) of two gas turbine units.

The project envisages construction of two highly efficient gas turbine units (GTU) with a capacity of 27 MW each. As a result of modernization, the power of each power unit will increase by 25 megawatts to 325 megawatts, which will increase the station’s total capacity by 150 megawatts.

Tashkent TPP is one of the first energy enterprises in Uzbekistan, part of the structure of Uzbekenergo JSC. The construction of a thermal power plant began in 1961, and was commissioned in 1963.

The work includes detailed design, supply of materials and equipment, installation / implementation of the proposed works and equipment, commissioning, testing and trial run, as well as training of local personnel of a gas turbine power plant with steam generation. The project is being implemented using borrowed funds received from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (“JICA”).

Prequalification will be held on 14 February 2020 in accordance with the procurement procedures under the ODA loans of Japan and is open to all applicants from eligible countries, as defined in the prequalification documentation.

The tender is scheduled for May 2020.
